What's the current price to buy a generic PCGS 63 Indian?

I know they've gone southward but how far?

Thanks,

Bruce

You should be able to pick up a generic one in the $1150-$1200 range....$1175 is typical high wholesale/low retail level. The major players are probably paying around $1125. A few weeks ago these were down around $1125. They've been cheaper in the past 2 yrs but you'd have to go back to $900 gold and January 2009 to get one at $1025. I think they might have briefly got down to around $1100 or a tad lower this past January/February. Their last peak was November 2009 at $1550-$1575 when gold went to $1200-$1225. They are priced about 17% above the value of a MS62. I don't know how many of these are still showing up in the European shipments but at 61% above spot, MS63 $10's are priced cheaper than MS63 Morgans. The pops of generic MS63 Morgans are about 11X higher (and I'm including both Libs and Indians to make it a fairer comparison). The MS63 $10 Libs are even cheaper. Figure on an extra $50 for CAC. And I'd probably suggest that if one were buying. Might not mean much today, but could provide someleverage down the road. Spots on non-CAC coins are usually a 3-6% deduction depending on severity. Makes no sense that an original skin coin with a minor copper spot and 63+ surfaces is "less desireable" to these wholesalers than a dipped out bright piece of swill with excessive bag marks. Then can apparently sell anything in a holder to J6P as long as it's not spotted.

These are very promotable coins. In early 2006 I believe they were pushed up to $2500. Just matters whether someone is ready to do it and has a willing audience. I love the value, but they have been dogs for 17 months now. Then again, every dog eventually has its day again.

That's low. They've run between $1200 -$1250 for the most part this year.

Look on APMEX, they have a buy price and their sell price. It will put you in the ballpark.

Someone got a good deal there, didn't they? Is that a better date?
