Selling ASE's in today market.

For the regular joe's out there who sit on uncirculated American Silver Eagles, what is a competitive yet reasonable price I could sell at? What could one expect over spot?

Preparing myself mentally if the time comes.

Which avenue of sale is suggested? Ebay seems to be the ticket yet the fee's would eat up the ebay premium.

How many do you have? Tulving.com is buying for $2.25 over spot. APMEX is $2 over spot, but they have minimums. Or just check the recently closed sales on Ebay. But spot +2 seems to be about right.
  • Take them to your local Coin Shop and sell them for Spot Minus $2.00
Walk away with Cash in hand, done deal.
You made money , ther coin shop can make a few bucks,

From what I've been seeing on Ebay ASE's are going in the $54 to almost $56 range. You can afford that 10% hair cut of Ebay fees. A lot depends on your cost basis. You pay the gains or you pay the gains after supporting someones job on an auction site.

Depending on how many you have, you could put a few small lots on eBay for the purpose of generating a contact/email addy. Once you have that you are free to deal with them outside of eBay.

My B&M has been paying .50 to .80 over spot for ASE's. Not under. Not par. Good guy.

I thought the question was about Burnished (W) ASE's, not bullion ASE's.

I'm also interested as to what to expect, premium wise, for the W ASE's.

Forget eBay ... the fees are too high for bullion related items.

Call around to your local dealers and ask what their buy price is for the amount of silver eagles you have. Make sure they are quoting the price for ASEs and not generic silver rounds/ingots. The buy price should be above the melt value of the silver.

When you feel it is time to sell, call around again, get a quote and then move quickly.

I'd avoid shipping them due to shipping costs, security issues and price volatility.
    All glory is fleeting.

Well I went to my trusted local B&M dealer today and unloaded %50 of my ASE's at $1.50 over spot.
I found it reasonable versus the hassle of online transactions.

Not bad for a %53 gain in a few months.

The other half will wait it out image

No one ever went broke taking a profit. Price sounds very reasonable.

I would think that saes would be an easy sell at $1 or $2 over spot on the BST forum.I know that I would be interested.
