It is a Peru "Sol", something like a dollar.

This coin has catalogue number KM #218.2, weighs 25.0g, is 50% silver with an agw of .4019. Prior to 1922 the issue was 90% silver. First year of issue was 1864, last year of issue was 1935. Yours was minted in Lima, but some others in the series were minted in Santaigo or Philadelphia. It's a fairly common date for the issue (mintage 2,855,000) and wouldn't carry too much premium over melt, I would think. Very pleasant design, no?
