Stackers and Conspirators

I wonder how many people here are just stacking gold and silver and enjoying the ride no matter where it takes them. I enjoy the Friday metal porn threads. I like seeing eveyones new purchases.
I enjoy buying PMs not out of prudence, but as an investment. (long term) Anybody else doing this???

But, I would love to see a seperate forum for all of the extremist conspiracy theorists. I just dont understand why alot of threads on here must be spun into a soap opera of extreme predictions.
NOBODY on here knows for certain what tomorrow brings (and dont tell me what history has shown) so why do some people feel the need to create this fortune teller nonsense.

  • I'm with you Downtown. I've grown tired of the negative nancys as well. The "silver has gone up too fast so it MUST be a bubble" guys. Or the "it's time to sell my silver because my brother-in-law is aking about it" crowd.

I'm a stacker and I enjoy it. I won't sell regardless of price or predictions. At least not for a very long time. I believe silver is currently finding it's true market value. I think the bankers have accepted that they have made their money and now it's time to get out and move on to something else. I think the CFTC may be telling them the same. However, it's all speculation and I admit I have no idea what is going on. While 99% of the population blows their money on boats, cars, houses, harleys, CDs, mutual funds and 401ks, I'll put mine in silver.

Regardless of what silver does, my gut tells me it's the place to be and I don't trust putting my money anywhere else.

Come on Bob, I know you have guns and a grain silo for when this world turns into a mad max movie. image

All ridiculous survival nonsense aside, I agree with every point you made 100%, except giving those nuts their own forum.

Here's a thought-provoking post. Don't tell you what history has shown? Seriously? I guess I'm wondering what made YOU decide to invest in precious metals for the long term?

After all, as any conventional investment advisor will tell you, precious metals don't produce anything (they take away assets from productive enterprises), they don't pay interest, and you can't eat them.

Gold and silver aren't going to be good investments without a reason. What is your reason, and it surely can't be because you "like stacking, regardless of where it takes you". Heck, for that purpose I'd be glad to set you up with a couple hundred kilo bars of zinc and you can stack a bunch on the cheap.image

I just have to ask..................what do YOU think history has shown, as it regards precious metals - that makes history so irrelevant? I want to know where you're really coming from, and why you are buying precious metals. Really.

We won't tell about history, after all this is probably like the "new" 1990's dotcom economy where the "old" rules no longer apply. image

I personally like this forum just the way it is......entertaining, informative and diverse. There is actually a lot of balance here.

I get crazy when people bandy about terms like "extremists" without being specific. What was extreme for a gold price prediction in 2001 is reality today. Labelling someone that way without a clear definition is pretty provocative in its own way.

Gold is at $1,500 an ounce. How extreme is it to wonder why?

I stated why I buy PMs in my first post. I never said history was irrelevant. I just dont think it validates any predictions that are tossed around here.

Im very aware of what is going on. You dont have to follow current events on the news, just go to the grocery store or fill your gas tank and you will see whats going on. But, IMO (not a prediction)...we will always have food, water, medicine, electricity, and fuel readily available to us. For now....we just have to pay more for it.

Everyone on here is feeling the pinch in one way or another. Some are weathering the storm better than others. I just dont see why alot of threads turn into these gloomy "run for your life" scenarios that are spawned from information we already know.

Many years ago there was a "conspiracy theory" that someone was trying to corner the silver market. Turns out it was true. My favorite conspiracy theory is that Washington and Wall Street are working together to transfer wealth from the middle class to the rich. Say it ain't true!

If you don't understand that your Opinion above IS a prediction, no one on this forum can help you understand their reasons why they purchase PMs.

Not to mention who are "we" referred to, and what "always" means to you?

    Nice thread! -1 image
