What will happen to my TTM's with the new increase in postage?

I had a question regarding the new increase in postage. I use 6x9 padded mailers for the majority of my TTM's since I include a pen with most of my requests. It used to cost me $1.39 to ship the envelopes before the recent increase in postage. I still have several requests out with only $1.39 in stamps on them. I usually don't fill in the senders address and just have my name and address written on the return envelope. What will happen to them now with the increase in postage if, and when, a athlete drops them in a mailbox?

  • Usually they will have you pay for it when it comes back. Should be stamped "Insufficient Funds"

Are you using padded envelopes for the SASEs? You should just be using PWE and FOREVER stamps.

I believe he uses the padded envelope because he includes a marker that he wants the athlete to use to sign the card.

    Forever stamps

  • If you want to play it safe for your future requests, add more postage than necessary. That's what I do. That way, I make sure that insufficient postage won't keep returns from getting back to me.

But thats only needed for the way to the signer, after that, he doesnt need the padding. Unless he wants the marker returned.

I use padded mailers for my SASE too when sending HOF rc's ttm. The reason I use them is because I have actually had the athlete try to return my Staedtler marker inside the PWE with my card, which lead to the damage of my card. I have also had a couple expensive cards come back with a small crease from the automatic sorting machine when I've sent them in PWE's.
