More Morgan dollar prices changes

Lots of price changes...both up and down...for Morgan dollars. Check out PCGS Price Guide. Common dates obviously moving up because of increasing silver prices, but other dates also very active.

Actually made a lot of changes in past week to a lot of series. Today...2546 prices higher, 490 lower. Past week...17,765 higher, 1383 lower. Market is moving so fast is a lot of work to keep up. If you see anything out of whack on the PCGS Price Guide let us know. Don't do it here or by PM...send us a direct email.

Thanks...hrh

Being a subscriber to Coinfacts I check auction sales regularly and have e-mailed PCGS about the 1885-P Morgan in MS66 DMPL. It seems that PCGS has not read my e-mails or does not want to change the price on this coin. The facts are that this coin has sold at an average of $3,105.00 during the last 26 months calculating the last 8 Coinfact auctions. My e-mails have been going to customer service.

Are common morgans really going for those prices listed in the guide?

It is a bit startling to see over the past few months the prices shift a grade. I think MS64s got the biggest percent change.

Current PCGS Price is $1,950...that is a big difference.

I think of the lines from the movie "Airplane," by Lloyd Bridges as the air traffic controller, progressively worsening his drug habits throughout the film:

"Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit drinking coffee..."
"Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit smoking..."
"Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit amphetamines..."

    These days its:

"Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit stockpiling Morgan dollars." Morgans are the crack cocaine of numismatics. (Well, except for the odd altered toned ones, which are more our LSD.)

I manage money. I earn money. I save money .
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.
