Baseball Glove Shipped Media Mail; Huh?

I win a baseball glove on eBay and noted earlier that the seller was charging $9.99 for postage (which I took into consideration when I set my snipe bid)......It arrives today in a padded envelope with a paypal postage sticker noting it was sent Media Mail (I couldn't tell what the exact shipping cost was). I was sending out a magazine a couple weeks ago and attempted to send it Media Mail and the clerk told me I couldn't if the magazines contained ads (which it did).
You guys get stuff shipped Media Mail that shouldn't be?
Any feedback thoughts?

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
I'd be ticked if it was a pricey one.

it was a kids glove.....what ticked me off is that he charged nearly $10 to ship it, then ships it Media Mail (which probably cost him $4.50)

<< <i>He took a chance and won ... next time he may lose BIG TIME ... The PO often opens up media Mail packages and if it's NOT Media Mail they return the package many times. On top of that, it allows the postal employee to see what is in the box ... and MAYBE the item never makes it out of the postal employees hands! >>
Had this happen on a DVD boxed set which makes sense as it was a larger item...

I was told by our Post Office that DVD's and VHS are OK to go through media mail. I also tell the PO clerk what is in the box to make sure that it would pass any inspections. I have never had a problem so far.

Yes, I knew which items could legitimately be shipped in media mail and surprised that after half a dozen box sets, this particular one was opened, maybe because it was in a padded envelope and not a box.
