After 13 years, I finally pulled a UD Michael Jordan Autograph/Jersey / 25

I have bought alot of UD boxes since 1998 and always wanted to pull a MJ autograph. I have tried and spent a stupid amount of money over the years hoping to pull one myself.

I bought two boxes of World of Sports at the LCS and the last hit in the second box was this.

  • Didn't one of these recently sell for like 50k or some ridiculous number?

    edit

Sorry missed the "from 1998" thought you actually meant it was from the product...

All I know is there was some first print card or something that sold for some stupidly ridiculous number

  • I think the very pricy one was the first auto jersey of Jordan from about 1997, had a piece of his All Star game jersey on there too.

Really? A patch card went for that much? Buyers are idiots. Ridiculous to see patch cards sell for more than an actual game used jersey would go for.
Looking for rare Randy Moss rookies and autos, as well as '97 PMG Red Football cards for my set.

It's not even a patch, it's a screened jersey piece. I don't think UD figured out how to deal with real patches until a bit later.

World of Sport had potential but when it hit, I think many people didn't like it. About the time it hit, UD announced that you could send in box tops to get a dual Jordan/Tiger auto which sounds good but seemed to many that UD really had to push the product. Many of the autograph cards are just a sticker with the person's name on it and not even a picture at all.
