When is it Worth Having OC cards Graded?

The reason I ask is because in my mind I would love to upgrade these cards at some point. Except for the centering these cards are pretty clean and anything less in quality I probably should'nt
grade, right? Would the value be increased graded or kept raw if I were to sell? It seems OC on a slab is a big turn off to most. I have so many questions. Thanks. Doug

<< <i>I don't mind qualifiers - 9 oc tells you much more about a card than a straight 7 does. >>
Depending on the card, 9Q can sometimes be better than 7NQ. But if the card gets knocked down to 8Q for some other reason, I'd rather have it net graded in most cases. I think a lot of 8Q cards could easily be net graded 7NQ or at least 6.5, either of which is better than 8Q.

If someone has a card and it has the OC qualifier - e.g. 9OC.
And let's say they would prefer NQ?
The grade one gets depends on how OC the card is IMO - i.e. my understanding.
The decrease of 9OC to 7 - i.e. a 2 grade deduction - without regard to centering is for the "Registry."
If the centering on the front is 90/10 - the best grade would be a 3.
If the centering on the front is 85/15 - the best grade would be a 4 or 5.
If the centering on the front is 80/20 - the best grade would be a 6.
Now, they do allow discretion for "eye appeal" from my understanding which could help a bit.
Just want to make clear that the "auto" drop of 2 grades for an OC qualifier is a "Registry" rule - not a grading rule if ya look at the grading standards.
I also don't mind OC cards as they tell you a lot more about condition. I would rather have a 9OC than a straight 7 depending on how off center it is. Here is an example of what I am talking about.

<< <i>Back in the PSA typewriter flip days huh Mike? Fabulous cards and I feel better about my OC stars now. Thanks again guys. >>
They be old Doug.
I like those cards and think they would look good in PSA holders - especially the Clementes.
Nice looking cards you have...love the old flips too!

Thanx Jeff.
I'd grade them. IMO it would add value in their condition, beause these are rather valuable cards, and it assures buyers there are no overlooked wrinkles or other non-obvious problems.
+1
Here is a scan of the back of the 61 Clemente 9 OC that I showed a pic of earlier. The back is absolutely perfect and I measure the front centering at 61/39 which qualifies for a straight 9. Never could understand why this card got an OC designation.
Any opinions as to why it got an OC designation welcome.

...that old
...and that nice
...should be graded, even 'OC qualifers'
Like 'bubblebathgirl' mentioned, PSA slabbed cards makes for safer handling!
And a possible 'bump in value' would be a sweet bonus!
IMO, "Willie" is worth PSA slabbing (that's Willie Shakespeare, not Willie Mays!)

P.S. Nice OC examples everyone!
