Guess the grade on my pretty new Morgan purchase! ***Grade posted on second page!!***

I went and visited my friends over at NFC yesterday, and I really wasn't planning on buying anything, but I just couldn't say no to this one!! What do you guys think? She's graded by our host.

That's a nice one! Congrats! Not my series but I will venture to guess a 65....as for DMPL or PL....I am clueless but I think it is certainly one of them. image

Hard, deep fields, great frost. Cheek lustre graze and the minute scuff on breast bother me not at that grade level..

If it's in a 64 holder call Kleinstuber or Brad and tell them how badly they screwed up. Oh wait, no more rips for you. Better notimage

Study up. This is an ideal doctoring candidate, even if in a 65 holder..... imageimageimage

Could be several grades -- 64PL seems the lowest possibility, although I have to admit that DMPL looks like it isn't out of the question at all.

I'm going to go with 65PL.
    When in doubt, don't.

Picture IMO looks 64PL with nice field/device contrast but field not quite mirror enough for DMPL. If it was my coin they would "3" it, so maybe a "5" for the fortunate...

There was a commonly used coin doctoring method on Morgan's in the 1980'S...

Do you recall which acid was used to turn satiny luster fields full DPML image

Paul is a good photographer but it can be notoriously difficult to show the reflective fields on DMPL Morgans, while at the same time the contacts and other marks always seem to be accentuated. for those reasons i'll assume he grabbed a nice MS65DMPL.

A nice, average MS-65. Attractive coin and something to enjoy!
