A Question About Changing TPGs

I am putting together a set of coins in PCGS graded MS 63 slabs and I am having trouble finding
the last few in PCGS holders. The question is, should I buy another TPG graded coin in the
same grade if I can find one and then send it to PCGS to cross to their holder?? If so would
it be best to crack it out or leave it in the slab?? OR would you continue to search for the PCGS coin??

What's the set? Are they rare in 63?

no guarantee they will cross at the same grade, will cost you to find out. Since it is more than one coin, you might send them all in and hopefully narrow down the field of what you need to keep looking for. MS63 is a tough grade for many coins, 62 and 64 more common.

Better buy the others in 64 and hope they come back as what you want.
Edit to add since you said they are Morgans. If you go this route leave them in the slab when sending in for crossover. If they don't cross to the holder you want they will be easly able to be resold as is with little loss if you buy at the right prices.

Morgans of every single date even the keys should be relatively available in 63. I would just hold out and keep checking BST boards and Ebay. You can make a post on the BST of dates you are looking for.

Currently, there are 919 pcgs ms63 Morgan Dollars on ebay alone. What dates do you lack? Check this page out.

Ditto on waiting. Morgans are the most widely available collector series, and virtually every date/mintmark will be available in MS63 PCGS soon enough. The crossover game takes skill, time, money and patience. If a person has the patience to play crossovers, they have the patience to wait for the coin in the holder they want.

I feel y'all are right about holdihng out for a PCGS coin and I guess really
isn't that part of the fun in collectimg. I guess I just get in a hurry sometime
so I'll keep looking for them.
