It absolutely boggles my mind.....

....that this T205 Gold Border Christy Mathewson PSA 5 has not been gobbled up yet??? I've been a vintage baseball card collector primarily PSA graded for 10+ years and I've owned two examples of this card in PSA 7 that IMHO were right on par (one actually not quite as nice technically) with this example which is graded PSA 5. I actually preferred this card over those early graded PSA 7 examples and of course the value spread is enormous between a 5 and a 7. I don't mind if this card stays in my collection but if there is a collector out there who is looking for this card in a NM 7 holder for a steal, I doubt you'll find one this nice (but of course the label is a 5). Again, JMHO but I've seen a lot of these (and have owned some) and I can't say enough about the quality of this card!

Just wondering, and it might help if it needs to be sold. I wouldn't even think twice without closeups..

Also this isn't the BST forum. Post this were it belongs. Finally if this boggles your mind maybe you should get out of collecting.
Perhaps it has a wrinkle?
The T205 Matty is one of the most common PreWar cards in existence! Period! ....with thousands of them surviving to this day...
over the top hype is a major turn off to me, and Im sure many others in the know... Not to mention the title of the post too.
No comment of the BIN price.
Good Luck

Sorry for thinking that the "best" 5 on the planet should probably be resubmitted to have a good chance at getting a 6
<< <i>And you might find that buyer in the BST Folder... >>

<< <i>are you selling or buying. I dont get it >>

<< <i>Card is graded correctly as a 5. All of your puffery hopefully turns people off instead of them thinking derf derf derf this is a 7 for the price of a 5.

Cheer up.

Actually the exposure is outstanding, thanks to everyone. (Although my bad on not putting it in the BST, sorry 'bout that). Card is almost sold.
Considering how chipped those usually are - I think it's a super 5 and may be under-graded a bit.
<< <i>Please continue to pat yourself on the back, congratulations on your almost sale of your overhyped and wrongly listed posting. You sir define "winning" in fact, I hear Charlie Sheen is looking for a headliner. >>
Ya gotta love the warm feelings around here.
Seriously though, I know we all wish in this hobby that "apples were apples" and "oranges were oranges" For anyone who has been at this game for 10+ years will no doubt understand that even though this card is an apple today, ten years ago it would have been an orange. Of course this simply my opinion on the condition of a card that I am very familiar with. Thanks again for bringing this thread to the top, but I don't think it's necessary any longer.

Good luck with the sale.

Hey Steve, fyi, lower left corner is just a miniscule chip of the gold. The corner is still square and NM status sharp.
