Just curious if a psa slab is dropped on the floor, for example, is it possible for the card to become damaged?

You dont even have to drop the slab.
Ive seen slight damage to cards that were just stored vertically (upright), instead of flat.
Ive seen cards with small minor dents to the edges where the corner cuts out touch the card.
One collector said all he did was store his cards all vertically in a larger storage box, and a couple did get some visible slight denting damage on edges from everytime the larger box was jarred when he moved it in transportation. He now stores all slabbed cards flat.
that show over rated players on them get utterly destroyed by that dang insert.
Ya I agree about the SGC slabs having this problem more often, but Ive seen PSA too.
The other problem SGC has is that some very thin cards will slide under the black insert ie T222, T200, etc. But PSA has its own probs with "floaters" (smaller cards that dont fit the holder that float in middle of slab) turning inside the slab and banging the corners.

Sometimes the card will slip under (between?) the rails. This may be more of an issue on odd size cards that are covered with mylar.
