Kroenke to purchase control of Arsenal?

American billionaire Stan Kroenke is reported tonight to be close to a full takeover of storied London club Arsenal. A source inside the club independently confirmed to FOX Soccer that a bid is underway.

Multiple outlets reported that Kroenke had reached an agreement to purchase club shares from two other shareholders, taking him across the legal threshold mandated under English law to trigger a full takeover bid. It is understood that Kroenke is to purchase the shares owned by Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith and Danny Fiszman, who own a combined 32 per cent of the club.

Kroenke - already the owner of Major League Soccer's Colorado Rapids, the National Basketball Association's Denver Nuggets and the National Football League's St. Louis Rams - would become the fifth American owner of a Premier League club, joining John Henry at Liverpool, the Glazer family at Manchester United, Ellis Short at Sunderland and Randy Lerner at Aston Villa.

You expect us to believe that you have... never mind. image
  • FWIW-The Kroenkes lived down the street in my hometown. Went to high school with his son who now runs the Nuggets. Also, Nascar Driver Carl Edwards also went to school with us. Somewhere I went down the wrong path!!

Carroll already with a brace, and City look completely outmanned. Where, oh where, was this kind of performance by The Reds when they played the Fightin' Hodgsons last week?

I know right!!! Reminded me of the kicker on the football team that got his toe touched by a rushing player, fell to the ground
and began crying like a little girlie. Or the baseball player that wore his shirt loose and a ball nicked it and he began crying that his arm hurt.
I'd mention something about Hockey but it's not a sport.

Huge game coming up here in three hours! I don't see how the Blues can score two at Old Toilet, and we've seen what happens with Chelsea in PK situations against MU, so my feeling is that the Red Devils will advance. But stranger things have indeed happened. In any case, go Chelsea!

"I watched two whole soccer games and almost saw a goal"
  • Defnately will be watching the Champions League games today. Arsenal - Colorado connection could mean a visit to the US in the off season ?

Newcastle United is already booked for a game in Orlando July 23 at citrus bowl. Man. United will play several MLS clubs as well as the MLS All-Star Game at Red Bull Stadium.

The game I have an eye out for is RFK in Washington, DC - Man. United vs. Barcelona - that will probably be a sell out.

Watching soccer is a great form of torture.

Actually, I always thought that too. I simply gave the game a chance, and, for what it's worth
it actually is a fast, action packed game, somewhat like lacrosse. I guess you have to look deeper than
the usual BS that you were told about. I too find myself during moments of what I think is dull inactivity
thinking that this game is boring, then from out of nowhere a pass is made and a shot on goal is stopped by the goalie
in what reminds me of a SS (No not Jeter) laying full out snagging a hot grounder up the middle.

I just wish I knew more about how the various leagues run and the like.

Now if Inter can somehow make up 5 pts and AC and Napoli fold all will be ok.

Or, you can follow the Red Sox and watch them play 200 ball.

    Or the Mets...............

Hey Hockey fellow I didn't forget you. I'll add more later and take a swipe or two at you then.
