Auctions on the b/s/t?

Over on Net54 they run auctions on their b/s/t. They seem to do well and I was wondering if anyone has ever tried this here or would/does PSA frown on this?

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

  • I know what you are talking about, it's honor code though that's the only issue!

How does this work? Do you start an item for an amount and see who will pay the highest through pm's or posts? Not a bad idea..I'd like to dump items here than on eBay or throwing them in the trash.
  • Basically they state their rules, when it ends increments if there is a reserve minimum bid etc all that and pictures etc

I think its a great idea and would love to see some auction action here. But instead of doing private PMs, I think it should be actual bids placed out in the open for everyone to see. Otherwise, it would be shady.
Successful transactions with: thedutymon, tsalems1, davidpuddy, probstein123, lodibrewfan, gododgersfan, dialj, jwgators, copperjj, larryp, hookem, boopotts, crimsontider, rogermnj, swartz1, Counselor

Always buying Bobby Cox inserts. PM me.

That is how it is done over there (bids can be seen by all) and it seems to work pretty well.

Didn't Muggy do some auctions here a month or 2 back?

Was PM style, seemed to work out ok IIRC.

    Good for you.
  • I've often thought the same thing, I like the auction forum on net54. I'd like to see it happen here and would definitely suggest that like net54 the bids are made via posts.
