OC Question on '73 Mgr

Is this clearly an OC qualifier? I guess I was fooled when I submitted the raw and didn't expect it. Thanks for comments.

    How's the back look?
  • Right or wrong, I'm pretty sure I have some unqualified 9s in the 73 set that have nearly MC backs. But here it is:

  • The left side of the card looks more centered than the right... Above his head it looks centered, but above vern it looks about 80/20... So diamond cut or whatever people call it?

It's basically tilted it looks like to me

It's only tilted in the slab. I would definitely not call that OC. I would send it in for review. Compare it to other MGR cards in slabs.

I think you need more space above the coaches box

At the worst spot (by the coaches boxes ... top of the card as you have it displayed) I measure it 29/71.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
  • Thanks for posting this type of scan. I think if you tapped the card over where it is square in the holder it would show it is skewed or tilted slightly. But it is still a great card.

What were you thinking? Straight 9? 8?7?
Its clearly OC but it can also be a straight 7 but not any higher without the qual.

Looks like the border on Benson's box extends higher than the border on Red's to me... not a tilt, but the way the card was designed.

That said, it looks loose in the holder, so maybe it doesn't grade at all the next time.

Yep, I usually get N6's on those. Definitely too OC for a 9 though.
