Hi,
I have just gotten a new Merc 1938 PR-67 It has the name Charles Japhe on the
Front. I was curious why is this?

    AS STATED BEFORE ON ONE OF YOUR OTHER COINS IT IS THE PEDIGREE NAME OF THE SET . THIS MAN HAD HIS SET PEDIGREED . YOU CAN HAVE IT DONE IF YOUR SET IS A TOP SET . LOOK UNDER BENEFITS , WHERE YOU ENTER YOUR SETS FOR THE REGISTRY .

    Well if you look in the registry of proof Mercury dimes, Charles Japhe owns a set in 7th place for current and all time finest. But at one time his set had to be in the top five. He had his coins pedigreed, or had his name put on them. If you don't mind me asking, what is the serial number for it? If it is the same as the one he has registered in the current finest, I think he can get in trouble? Hope that helps a little! image ~Brian

    Thanks for the info.
    I am new to the forum and I dont want to start of bad on someone.
    Is the serial number a big deal? If it is I'll give it.
    If I send in my set of Merc proof 67s I can get my name on the labels?
    That would be kinda cool.

    If you enter your set in the Set Registry, AND if it's in the top five sets, you can send them in to have a "pedigree" put on the inserts. Go here for the details. Your set has to be in the top five to qualify.

    IF YOU CHECK THE MERCURY SETS YOU WILL NOTICE ON THE RIGHT SIDE THAT SOME HAVE COME FROM PEDIGREED COLLECTIONS , WHEN YOU LIST YOUR COIN YOU ENTER THE NAME THAT IT CAME OUT OF . CHECK THEM OUT TO SEE HOW TO LIST YOUR COINS , IT ADDS TO YOUR COLLECTION TO SEE THAT YOUR COIN CAME FROM A TOP COLLECTION TO BEGIN WITH .
