Cubs Team Cards

Why on their mid to late 70s photos are they the only team that has just their heads floating around?
My favorite ball players throughout the years: Hank Aaron, Dale Murphy, Ellis Burks, Lance Berkman

I don't have an answer for you, but it always annoyed the heck out of me. image

In 1975, the White Sox card had floating heads, but the Cubs card did not. The explanation I've heard is that they didn't take team photos.

Why is there no team card in 1968?
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.

  • I think it has to do with the fact that the Cubs aren't really much of a major league team and most consider them less collectable than the major league counterparts. Topps probably just figured it was a waist of time to get the team together for a group shot since they are really just filler cards anyways. Go Brewers!!!

I asked the same question a couple of months ago. Search for thread, as there were some interesting (but no definitive) answers.
