Nice poppage for my 1952 Topps Set-Scans Added

Well I did something I've never done before. Submitted cards under the Special that I knew were over $100 in value. Not only did I save some cash I am very happy with the grades. It seems PSA

hardly ever gives out .5 grades on 52's but this time I scored. The Hermanski 6.5, Irvin 6.5, and the Priddy 7.5 are all pop 1 for that grade. Not a big deal but I think it's cool. One miss on PSA's part

is the Easter in a 6, it's a 4 at best, but on the flip side the Sleater 5 is pretty nice. Must have missed something there. It took over three weeks but well worth the wait. I'll post cards when I get

them back next week. The Lenhardt and Parnell were nice suprises too. I think I got a favorable grader. Have a good weekend everyone. Doug

Fantastic cards, Doug. Congratulations, too, for the "compatibility view" solution. I'm so computer stupid that I wouldn't have figured that out in a million years.

Doug ... WTG ... those are some AWESOME grades for the '52 set. Did you pick these cards up recently or did you have them for a while. I THINK i asked you already, but are any of these upgrades and now you have others to sell/trade?

Thanks Doug, mostly purchased these in the mid-80's early 90's. So I've just had them laying around this whole time.image I still have a order receipt for 11 of these cards from November of 1985. LOL

    #4 Lenardt-#16 Hermanski-#24 Easter-and #61 Gilbert were all $7.00 each

    #15 Pesky-#30 Parnell were $8.00 ea.

    #273 Palica $14, #290 Astroth $17, #291 Coan $16, #292 Baker $17 and #306 Sleater was $13 bucks!

Back then it seems the semi-hi numbers seemed to be much higher priced than the lower 1-81 numbers. Now it is reversed and as many of you know it's harder to get high grade low numbers.

Bought 72 '52s on that purchase and haven't had all them graded yet.

    Doug,

I'd sell that Astroth ... probably get close to $400.00 for it ... buy a "7" for $75.00 and use the other $325.00 to fill in some of the holes you have in the set.

GOOD LUCK with whatever you do with the higher graded cards.

Giving up a 8 in this set for a collector would be one of the hardest things to do, but you do make complete sense. I will think about it and I do appreciate the advice.

I would agree if you were collecting a set in 6, 7 and some 8s. But didn't you say your set was mostly 4, 5 and 6? If so, just think of how many you could get for that one card!

Well Doug I counted 66 cards in the set graded so far. 19 are 7's with 3 7.5's and 12 8's. I think for now I'll keep it. Thanks again.

Question. Are you in sales by the way? image I have a feeling sooner or later you will convience me to sell the 8.
