Anybody have a guess? Are they quick, slow or okay?
Week, two?
How's their customer service. I spoke to them and they seemed fine but
would like any input from those that have used.
thanks,
bob

2 out of 3, I was pretty happy overall.

Interesting read. At the mercy of the smelter! However, some don't really have a legit
gripe. Sterling is rarely .925 and often even under .900. Gold when marked is almost
never what it says. Legally 14k can be anywhere between 12.1k and 14.0. It has to be
marked pure in order to be sure it's 14k.
I don't expect 100% from any smelter. I calculate sterling at .850 and gold at the lesser
k marking.
I just was wondering about the turn around times lately.
thanks,
bob
I received a check 7 business days from the day I mailed the items.

7 days is average for me as well, from the day I send the item to the day I receive the check. Anywhere from 6 to 9 days.
But I don't use them anymore. As I stated in one of the earlier threads they seemed to be on the low side. I now use another refinery that is much, much better, especially on gold transactions, although their timetable is about one week longer. I agree that about 10% is going to be "lost" in melting, purity, etc...., but when it got up to 30%, I stopped using Midwest Refineries. I only wish I would have switched over sooner.
