80 years ago today, was the darkest day in Fighting Irish history. Knute Rockne was killed, in a plane accident.

    Thanks for posting. Made me look up some of his stats. First, I had NO IDEA he was only 43 when he died. Second, had NO IDEA his ND teams were 105-12-5 ... and he lost FOUR of those games in one year! He went 19-0 in his last two years as coach.
