The decline from democracy to tyranny is both a natural and inevitable one.

  • It'll never pass.

This STATESMAN, and I use that word very seldom anymore, truly knows what is going on and how to fix some of it. But sadly, his ideas are never taken seriously enough to work.

I support him and his ideas

It is my understanding that the bill has no co-sponsors.

What's wrong with or to be afraid of competition in a 'capitalist' country? LOL especially the currency, that's all. Let freedom ring.

We've been hemi-Socialist for a long long time.... you know all the culprits. Try taking Medicare or SS away and watch what happens. I'll challenge MJ that'll bring em out into the streets quicker than cutting off cable. Gary North envisions the fall of America crumbling within lead by little old ladies with umbrellas whacking every dissident on the head into oblivion. Medicare was supposed to be an optional program. HA! (too long to rant here, remember what happened to Dr Brown in NJ when she challenged that one by allowing her pt's to opt out on tests she knew Medicare would not cover anyway?)

I distinctly remember in the last presidential primary that Paul was the only one that wanted to discuss the economy. He was laughed off the stage by the other candidates and the media as well. I guess he got the last laugh.

I think Medicaid made Medicare unsustainable. We guarantee healthcare for the poor/welfare but we deny it to 45 million working citizens. At least those 45 million workers paid into Medicare. Those on welfare, etc? What was their contribution?

I think Ron Paul is just getting ready for what will be the inevitable collapse of the U.S. Dollar.

I had a dream last night and woke up for work with it still running in my head.

Somehow, the currency was no good. People were giving $35 in value/goods for silver oz's of any kind. Gold was not traded on the street, it was all silver and everything was negotiable. Once the banks started the holiday, within one day and a few hours, there was nothing on the open market. All the food was off the shelves, all the gas pumps were empty, there was nothing for sale through the usual merchants. There were places selling thing and they still had some goods but they were barterable for silver and 90%. Silver had become the currency of choice for goods. At the time, I was looking for cigarettes but nobody had any for sale until I did find a guy that had three he would sell to me...not three cartons or packs, but three cigarettes for sale. All 3 for $35, one oz of silver. An ounce of silver had become the new dollar.

After I had been up for a while, I was kind of suprised at how fast everything for sale for dollars was gone. And I began to think about my food stash, my silver stash, my ammo stash, my nicotine patch stash, the other stashes. I'm going to be working on updating and reworking my stash now that I have seen how fast things change. I'm also going to stash a couple of cartons of butts. I don't think that this was a dooms day prognostication dream but more of a "Hey, you better keep your stash up to date." subconscious reminder. I'm still amazed at how fast it all happened. In the dream, it was just as they say it would be in that it will come with no warning and the change will be really quick. If you aren't already prepared if/when it happens, you can't get that way.

    Got CASH, I mean,
    GOT SILVER?

Medicare and Medicaid are two completely different and mostly independent entities, though someone may have both 'benefits' (over 62 or disabled (Medicare, federal) and 'poor' (Medicaid, largely state run, some Federal funds). Most people who have Medicare do not also have Medicaid. Medicare would have become unsustainable anyway on its own socialistic ponzi-ness. So I think your first sentence is inaccurate, and a nonsequitir re: your conclusion, though I certainly agree with you on your conclusion.

    The bill also includes:

"A second change sought in H.R. 1098 would repeal legal tender laws which Congressman Paul believes to be unconstitutional. These laws dictate that the currency produced by the United States government must be accepted for most kinds of monetary transactions. "

Thus, is doesn't have a chance.

    Both derived from public funds.

Medicaid, largely state run, some Federal fund

And when the states do not have the funds-the Feds bail them out.
  • Yes, it will not be signed into law, however there are states passing similar laws. If u believe in the concept, atleast start with YOUR state and get it passed.

We all offer opinions on what's wrong with the money, but Ron Paul puts actions to his words. Do we? Paul is a true Patriot.image

Ron Paul Contra Mundum! (reference to Athanasius; who did prevail, though virtually alone)

Depends on the definition of involved , my own contributions to Dr Pauls campaign in 08 were such that i was one of around 100 people who had a lunch and pre speech talk with RP and his wife at a swanky hotel in Phillie. He is one of the finest men in political circles it's been my pleasure to meet.
I believe he was mismanaged and that with the media blackout done him in , i mean..who's idea was it to rent a blimp to get the word out ? Absolutely useless people working for him in the main.
