I've got several toned VDBs that I know came from original rolls and yours looks a little different. I'd probably guess that your coin looks more like some sort of album toning, but I'm not really sure. Cool
There were never any original rolls of '09 cents. They were distributed in small bags. Any roll toning would have been from a later re-wrap. Rolls did not become used for denominations as low as cents until the mid-teens.

i would love to hear more on this subject. I have several early rolls in tubes but I can't say I have any in original paper. Any facts you can supply would be greatly appreciated. I know we have discussed this on the forum before and if I remember right someone cam up of proof of a Shield nickel roll/
