MAGNOLIA(NJ) — Two FedEx employees have been charged in connection with the theft of more than $188,000 worth of silver coins and bars from the FedEx Ground Facility on Atlantic Avenue.
Julian C. Marshall of Blackwood and Jason M. Ramage of Bellmawr were arrested Tuesday after police here were notified of the theft.
Some of the silver was traced to a local pawn shop, which led to the identity of the two men, police said. Both men worked at the Atlantic Avenue facility, said police.
More than $95,000 in silver and some electronic products purchased with funds from pawned silver were found the home of one of the men, police said.
One suspect’s vehicle was seized by police.
Marshall was charged with theft and conspiracy to commit theft. Ramage was charged with receiving stolen property and conspiracy to commit theft.
Both have been lodged in the Camden County Jail to await a bail hearing.

That's got to be it. Other than knowing the shipper or receiver, I don't see any other way.

Last time I looked, FEDEX wouldn't insure coins or precious metals.

None of the ground carriers do. That's why we must use USPS when the value exceeds what we're willing to lose.

I think you could be right.
From 2000 to 2005, I worked for a diamond internet company and we only lost one diamond in that time (worth about $10,000) because of a delivery problem (and yes we used Fedex) and guess where the diamond was supposed to end up??................New Jersey!!!!

That very well could be. The last time I checked was probably a couple of years ago- my earlier post in this thread was based on my findings at that time.
