Barry Bonds found guilty!

image Couldn't resist. Is this a possibility? What would be the hobby implications if this happened?

The hobby implication is that his 1986 TT would go from being a $3 card to being a $2.75 card.

dont really know but i'de imagine it will be easier for anyone to sue him if they spent alot of money on his name and record, not sure how that works but i hoped he saved his pennies and quarters, interesting thought,,,j

to be honest, who really cares anymore, unless of course you are sitting on a hoard of his RC's. he got caught, how many others did what he did and didn't get caught......I won't beat this to death since it's already been beat to death several times but there are cheaters in all sports, businesses, life in general.....some get caught, others don't but hey they have to live with it.

I think his items have been priced with the guilty part already being factored in, via public opinion and perception.
  • No implications really. The guy's a loser and the current value of his cards reflect this.

  • The difference in this Congressional verdict is not whether he used steroids - but rather that he lied about it.

Keeping up with the use of performance enhancing substances is a forgivable offense. however, he will further shame himself by lying about it. (for reference: see Pete Rose)

I guess what I'm really asking is the hobby implications as a whole. Bonds will never see himself get inducted into the hall of fame IMO, and this certainly would be a nail in the coffin for all of the former sluggers in the steroid talks but would this trickle down into some of today's stars? If Barry Bonds goes to jail for lying to Congress about steroids would it condemn Alex Rodriguez to a Hall of Fameless career for lying to the public? Personally I think the public will not view this as Barry Bonds goes to jail because of lying about steroids but because he took steroids, and if this holds true then the likes of Rodriguez, Clemens, Sosa, Manny and all of the other stars of my generation will be shunned from the very game that made them famous.
