this coin is up for bid on eBay from Kryptonite ............. did you consign it to him ?

    no big deal , i guess ...........

i like the color but the date is starting to wear thin on me. i'd like to see a thread of toned Franklins with no 1957 or 1958 coins.
  • Franklin halves I come across in local coin shops never look as good as the one featured here.

Nope, I bid on it last time around and got outbid. Then the seller re-listed it right away. Either the buyer returned it (or never paid for it or something) or the seller was bidding on his own coin. Anyway, I'm considering bidding on it again!

I like it. Fairly even toning without a major area of blotchiness. All around, I really like the color. image

..........I think it's fairly attractive and super high end for the grade !

That's a very nice 58D...good color and appears very clean.

I like both sides, but can understand how most might not like the revese.

    who doesnt like original toning.

I however agree with mr jefferson that seeing a different date besides
57 or 58 would be nice.

    Ok, something different then a 57 or 58. How about a 1956 PCGS MS66FBL...

Yeahhhh Lablovers... the crowd goes wild!!!

On the OP, excellent color, not A or A+ but very nice even for 58D's. And I mirror PP's opinion, that coin exceptionally clean and only limited by tiny bit of bust/shoulder chatter and minor abrasion on the lower bell.
I'd like my copper well done please!

True Keets, true, I'd like it too and me thinks there's plenty of Franklin muscle on this site to pull it off.

On the other hand these 57 and 58D's are like 81S morgans, seems to be no shortage of monster toners but the good ones are great!

58 d's come nice and with that said if you can only have one example, nice just doesn't cut it. What you will want is a monster and that coin isn't one. If your going for multi examples then by all means add it to the stable. One can never have to many 58 d's.

Here is a 55 Franklin--photo courtesy of crazyhounddog. This pic is well reduced in size and loses a little bit of substance.

Not rainbow toned, but has a lil color, more than I can capture. Not a high grade but there are several attractive frankies in there.
