Yet another ebay question

I had several coins up for auction, some were the same type. A buyer meant to purchase 2 different types, but inadvertently bought
2 of the same type. He has not paid yet and emailed me within minutes of the auctions closing. He informed me of what he had done and asked if he could swap out one of the coins he won for a different type. I have one, same price, that I can swap out so he can have 2 different coins. My question is how do I do this correctly?

Can I cancel one of the sales and list the other as a buy it now and let him know when it will list so he can get it?

Thanks in advance.

If you messaged through the Ebay system I think you'd be safe just sending what he wants.
Ebay will now read messages between buyers and sellers on disputed items. So, I think you
would be safe just corresponding through messages. Make it clear and ask him to agree to
modify the auction of one coin to reflect the different coin.

Make sure he also writes of the substitution in the comments of his PayPal payment. They don't read the eBay messages, so you want it clearly spelled out in both places.
