1969 Topps #1 Wilt Chamberlain, Dave DeBusschere

I've had this card since 1990 and was wondering what you guys think this card might grade if I decided to send it in?

Nice card...bottom two corners have touches...my guess is somewhere between a PSA 6 and PSA 7.

I agree with Jeff; probably a 6.5 due to touches on both bottom corners.

Agree with the other posters, looks like a solid 6 to 7.

It's a very nice card no matter what it might grade.

I looked at my PSA 7 that I have in my '69 set and it has the same centering as your card. Mine has three sharp corners with one of the bottom corners a little touched.
  • Thanks to all that replied.... If I send it in to PSA, I will post a scan when I get it back.
  • I love this old school photo... look at his socks....

That is one AWESOME looking '69! I started at the top of the card and scrolled down slowly ... I thought I was looking at an 8 - 8.5 ... the top looked great ... got the middle and the centering was fantastic ... and I actually felt bad for you when I saw the bottom corners! LOL I agree with the other posters ... 6.5 - 7.0. That being said, it would probably be one of the nicer looking 6.5/7.0.
    STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
  • When my son was 14, in 1990, he set up at a huge show in Chicago, I think it was called the Rosemont Horizon annex or something simular? I took a week vacation and we got to enjoy seeing 4 games while we were there. He picked up this card along with about 30 other 69 Topps basketball, plus about (500) 1960's Topps and PCG football cards for $50 from a very nice older gent who came to the show. He told my son no one was interested in his stuff and if he wanted it he could have it all. My son loved football so he bought it... He didn't even look at the basketball.... I love the 1969 set so I have really enjoyed these card even thought the checklist is marked most of the other cards are in great condition and the price was right.

My son was a huge Cowboys fan also.

The Unseld looks like it is worth sending. For 1969 Topps HOF rookie cards like Unseld if you think you are going to get a NM 7 or better it is worth sending. Other than Alcindor, the checklist and Havlicek I do not think it is worth sending a card from that set that is going to come back 6 or lower.

Thanks for the info, I assume you think it will grade out a NM 7 ?

  • The centering is not bad of Dave De ...

I am not very good at guessing grades from just scans. With that said, the Unseld to me looks like a 7. The Debuscherre seems to have 4 corner touches but definately a 6 or 6.5.
