I sent Greg Valentine $20 and a All Star card in December per his instructions, after all this time he sends me a message on facebook and says the package is on the way. He does not have his trading card in there but a bad digital image photo autographed. No response from my last message to him. Ugh!!!

I did get an Austin Idol off my wantlist though last week.

I'd expect an Andre the Giant to run a good $500 for a signed Wrestling All Star, full name not just "Andre".

I finally added Greg Valentine to the collection and a different version to my Koko B Ware signed card. This time he autographed the card "Sweet Brown Sugar" (which is what it says on the card). Progress is getting really slow but I never thought I would have 86 of the 108 and just starting the project in that last year or so. As many have heard, wrestlers often leave this earth earlier than most....

Wait a minute....let me get this straight. Is this a wresting thread started by someone other than David? Is this David's alt or a real person who also likes wrestling cards? If we really have 2 wrestling gurus on the CU boards, we have to be considered the center of knowledge on this topic. Get your T206 education over at Net54 if you will, but if you want 82-83 Wrestling allstars, it all happens at CU.

Rob found the cards before I did.

It is fair to say I know a lot about that specific set and the general 80's wrestling cards but he is the most informed on wrestling cards in general.

I love collecting wrestling cards because I can have the most impressive collection of wrestling cards found anywhere. I'd put my wrestling card collection against anyone's wrestling card collection. I truly enjoy them, as my venture initially just started out collecting a few Olympic wrestling cards of guys like Dan Gable and John Smith. What makes it more fun is seeing these guys at tournaments and getting them signed, and having a decent conversation with them. What I especially like is that these wrestling "heroes" are very personable and what I'd like my hobby to be all about. I slowly sold off most of my other sports cards and got into some of the vintage wrestling cards and a few modern sets from the 1980s era. I have some SF Hess wrestling cards from 1889 that are so rare only a dozen or so cards from the entire set have been graded by PSA and I have five. So yes, there is a crazy wrestling card collector on these boards other than DPeck, I just tend to have a more diverse selection of wrestling cards while he is the King of the Wrestling All Stars. I think his efforts and attention to those sets has increased the profile of wrestling cards and I like that! When you see a 1980s Hulk Hogan go for a thousand plus dollars there is some interest in these cards after all.........
