How much do low feedback sellers suffer?

If a seller's feedback is under 100, like mine, will their sales on eBay suffer?

I'd say it depends on the item. Low-price commodity items won't suffer much, at least not when I'm shopping. Selling unopened wax with a sub-100 FB? Not to me you're not.... image

  • depends on what the fb left says, i had an idiot thief who i sold to before the del confirm kick started, i sent item, he claimed to never have gotten, woulda chalked it up to PO lost it if i didnt see the same things i sold selling under a different name that he owned, i filed to get my fee's back under seller never paid, which was the truth after paypal took the funds back, this idiot then gave me a negative FB that pretty much ruined my sales, it said"sell reproductions and fakes be aware",, i tried to have it removed because how could he say that if he claims he never got the item i sold him, well, you know ebay wouldnt remove it so i got stuck with everybody thing i sold fakes and repo,, sucks but it happened,, john

  • yes, feedback matters...especially if items aren't slabbed or don't come with a coa...
a high rez scanner helps too...most people don't get high marks on there scans or there
ability to use the settings properly...

The higher the price the more important feedback or having a relationship with the seller is. If I want a relatively expensive item from someone with low feedback I check to see who left the feedback. If well respected ebayers have left good feedback I have more confidence in the seller. If low feedback people only have left feedback for the low feedback seller I will pass.

Even if there slabbed it may matter. I was looking at my old records. and noticed I bought a slabbed 1962 Mantle for well under going rate. The sellers feedback was under 50.
  • Wanted to mention if your feedback is low, just buy a few things and pay quickly, that can help get your feedback increase pretty fast.

If I had an expensive item (like, Mantle Rookie) and low feedback that's about the only time I would consider sending the card to someone like prewar or probstein to sell for me.

If someone has 100% or so and under 100 - it doesn't bother me at all.

I don't buy expensive items tho.
