Listed some stuff on fee-bay and one item was a Freddie Fitzsimmons card (circa 1936, S & S Game). (spam: 99 cents BTW, LOL!)

I usually click on baseball almanac: Freddie Fitzsimmons stats, etc by Baseball Almanac

....just for the enjoyment, to read about the old timers' stats, etc. I was surprised that that Freddie Fitzsimmons was not inducted into the Hall of Fame (217 Wins 146 Losses).

Interesting, comments anyone? image

Decent pitcher, sure. HOFer, no way.

Pitchers got many more starts in the 20s and 30s, so the 200+ wins isn't such an impressive feat. Only 1 20 win season, a couple of other decent seasons make him a good pitcher, but not a HOFer.

Baseball Reference says two of the most comparable pitchers numbers-wise are Kevin Brown and Bob Welch, and I don't think Cooperstown will be making room for either of those gentlemen in the near future either...
