What size soft sleeves (penny sleeves) for pre-1957 baseball cards?

The regular size (2 5/8" X 3 3/4") soft sleeves are too small. I know that there are the 2 1/2" X 4 3/4" tall card soft sleeves, but these are too big, aren't they?

Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.

Ultra Pro makes a product called, interestingly enough, Vintage Card sleeves. They measure 2-3/4x3-15/16. I use them for all my cards.

    Topps cards? or pre1957 cards?

Most all cards made before 1957 are smaller than 2.5" by 3.5" so the same penny sleeve and top loader used for modern cards are perfect.

Now listen, guys. I'm not lying about this. The pre-1957 Topps and Bowman cards don't fit in the regular soft sleeves. I will check out the Ultra Pro Vintage Card sleeves.

I bought some Ultra Pro Vintage penny sleeves about 5 years ago. They are wonderful for 52-56 Topps cards.

Glad to hear it. FWIW, I use them for all my cards as it lessens the danger to the corners when inserting the cards.

Yes, it does. Putting even a regular size card in a regular size soft sleeve can be hazardous to the corners.
