    centering looks better on "b"

The first one. The centering is not a good but the corners look sharper.

Assuming no counterfeits or any miscellaneous hanky-panky, I'd choose A over B.
I'll sacrifice the centering and maybe trade off some vivid color to avoid B's corner wear (on all 4) and also the wear on the middle of the right side

i would choose B. i care more about centering than corners.
Scans of most of my Misc rookies can be found <a target=new class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://forums.collectors.com/m...y&keyword1=Non%20major">here

I'm very different than most collectors as far as I have zero interest in ever owning that particular card....but if I was buying it for someone else and I was asked to choose which one I felt was the better looking card....I would pick B.
  • cpamikecpamike Posts: 5,566 ✭✭✭
I am a corners guy so I would pick "A". It may be OC, but not that bad to take away from its eye appeal.

A it has better corners also the scan looks odd to me so the blury image could be that.

I think that upper left corner on B makes it an automatic 6 that centering and color don't make up for in my mind.

"A" - Although B has nice centering, the corners - especially the top left - are just too ugly on B.

Color, registry, and centering outweigh the corner issues...B.

A, the only thing that looks better to me on "B" is the colour

    My 2 cents says A
    PackManInNC
  • Neither. They both look bad.
  • Corners mean nothing on an expensive card unless you're going for a 9 or 10. The vivid color and virtually perfect centering on B at a PSA 6 price make it the much better buy..... assuming A is a PSA 8(OC) and B is a PSA 6.

Regardless of grade, the eye appeal of B is astronomically better than A.

is that an outbreak of print dots on B in the word EDMONTON?

    Hi Matt

    A

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • Neither.

    A = very off center;

B = bad corners. Honestly, OPC cut corner or not, that upper left tip on B is almost missing.

    Brutal.

I have so far stayed away from most Gretzky's as I find them mostly over graded.

Thanks for all the replies. I am going to pass on them both and wait for the right one for me. Figure I only want to buy this card once so it should be the one I really want.

    Thanks for all the help.

    Also,

    A was a PSA 7
    B was a PSA 5.5

Those seem like tough grades for the both of them.
