What would be the approximate price range of a sterling set of silverware set

BearBear Posts: 18,953 ✭✭✭
Eight settings, of four pieces each, for 32 plus 4 extra serving pieces?

I do realize that the knife blade is not silver and the knife handle is probably

weighted with something other then silver.

sterling

OK then, how about a standard teaspoon or a fork?

Hard to give a generic answer as some brands are much heavier than
others. You'll need to weigh the pieces.

Bear, if it's old check the silverware collector sites before you sell it at melt. Some patterns may still carry a decent premium.

yep, I think that's round-a-bout what Silvertowne is paying. you have to weigh each piece (or at least I had to on the last set I appraised due to the fluctuation of weight among similar pieces).

I have had some as little as 750 to as much as 1250, depending on the weight of the pieces. Only way to do it is to weight it.

figure your knifes(and other stuff were the only the handle wrap is silver) at 1/2 oz each, dont weigh them waste of time.
