E-Bay Now playing games with E-Mail address's??

Afternoon,

I contacted a Seller through the E-Bay "Contact a Member". Sent an E-Mail asking if they wanted to sell several items and would they offer discount, off E-Bay, Paypal Gift? They answered back yes, please contact me at their direct E-Mail address:
Yes it was blank, I contacted them again through E-Bay and they tell me they had included their E-Mail address but E-Bay had somehow purged it from the e-mail sent to me. I sent them mine through E-Bay and it went through to them, but when I look at my sent messages in my My Messages section of E-bay, the message is there, with my E-Mail address removed.

As I do this on average 3-5 times a day Buying or Selling, has anybody else heard of something going on to discourage us from doing direct deals?

Neil

Wow, very interesting - they must be able to identify an email address.

You might be better off writing it out - such as "name at email.com" vs. the @ symbol.

Exact same thing happened to me last week. Sent two messages containing my email through ebay messaging, and both times the email address was wiped out.

A buyer just sent me his e-mail address yesterday, and it got through no problem. I do very few off-ebay deals, so maybe some of you guys have been black flagged or something.

They announced some time ago that they were going to start doing that but I had never heard of an instance of it actually happening.
