1978 Burger King non-parallel cards - anyone have a list?

Most of the Burger King cards are identical to the regular Topps issue except for the card number. But there are a few that are different.

For the Tigers, the cards of Jack Billingham, Jim Slaton, and Steve Dillard are different, since their regular Topps cards had them on different teams. Johnny Wockenfuss's card is basically the same except for the font size of his name.

Does anyone know if there were any Rangers, Astros, or Yankees (besides Gossage) that had Burger King cards that differed substantially from the regular Topps issue? Thanks.

Same with Jack Morris and Lou Whitaker
  • Just did a search on this very forum, and I found out for the Yankees, Rich Gossage, Rawly Eastwick and Jim Spencer have different photos than the regular Topps issue.

I forgot to mention Morris, Whitaker, and Trammell because those are the obvious ones! LOL, sorry.

I also discovered by searching on ebay that Dave Bergman and Jesus Alou have Burger King Astros cards, and they do not have regular Topps cards.

    Any others?

Ferguson Jenkins and Al Oliver are pictured in Rangers jerseys.
I'm sure the Rangers set has a couple more that are different.

  • Yeah, I just noticed Reggie Cleveland is another Ranger that's different.

On a related side note, were there any OPC cards that year with significant differences from the regular Topps issue? I mean besides the typical differences between Topps and OPC.

  • as far as '77 O-Pee-Chee goes, Gary Carter (Topps = Catching, O-Pee-Chee = Batting Stance) and Tony Perez come to mind right away. and with Perez' '77 Topps Cloth, he has three different pictures altogether.
