Question about buying/shipping silver/gold/bullion from Canada to US

I joined the forums in hopes of getting some straight answers. I am interested in purchasing around $3,000 in gold coins. Neither the seller or I, are familiar with the easiest way to ship the items, and how the duty/forms/customs would work or cost. Can any of you guys help me figure out the best way, and cheapest way to ship this, and still be covered by insurance, and not get smashed with duty fees?

    Welcome!

    You shouldn't have any problem importing bullions into the US since there are now duties under $10K.
    With Canada Post you can figure out the rates, though on their website they don't allow an insurance coverage over $1000.

    I think DoubleEagle59 is in Canada, he may give you better tips.
