How To Ship Bulk Amount of Cards

Hi all,

What's the best way to ship a bulk amount of cards (4000+). I can put in a large 5000 count type box, but then what? Lots of styrofoam peanuts to keep from moving? Just tape the lid on tightly? I've never needed to ship this amount so I don't really know the best way. If I could draw upon some veteran experience here, it'd be most appreciated!

Thanks!

Rodney

The Post Office has basically destroyed the ability to ship large amount of cheap cards at a worthy cost. They just raised every ounce after the first $.20 per-ounce, which when dealing with hundreds if not thousands of cards means a LOT more money.

I think the most prudent and least expensive way is to pack securely in a 5000 count box (leave a little room on the end of each row and pack that with wadding or peanuts to secure the cards in each row) and box the 5000 count box and ship via UPS.

I thought of trying to fit them in in flat rate box, but thought they would get all mangled up and move around a lot without the dividers to help keep them situated.

I think this may be the best solution.

    Thanks for the ideas folks!

  • I know I had a "lot" of cards shipped to me, they all came in 330 count boxes, there was basically 12 of them in the large flat rate I believe, with a bit of room on the end for extra random stuff/packing.

Hope I'm remembering correctly but I'm pretty sure that's what the guy had shipped them to me as... Have nothing atm to test it out for you sorry!

I purchased a 3500 count lot from Ron Burgundy here, and I got a 5000 count, with newspaper to fill the dead space, shipped via FedEx. Everything showed up ship shape. That said, he lives a state away, so it's not like it had to make it from New Hampshire to Arizona.

Perhaps that's the way to go, though.
