Is there a reference book for ancient India coins 1500's and prior?

A club member brought a three ring binder full of ancient India coins to the meeting last night asking if anyone could help him with attribution or guidence to a reference. As you can imagine, not a lot of help was offered at a local club meeting. So, I thought to myself, I think the wise and erudite members of the darkside might be able to offer some guidence. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

For coins of pre-Mughal Islamic India, the standard reference is "The coins of the Indian Sultanates" by S. Goron and J.P. Goenka. An excellent reference with most coin types illustrated and translations of the Arabic/Persian inscriptions provided.

For actual "ancient" coins from the Indo-Greek states, the Sear catalogue of ancient Greek coinage is useful enough.

But for the coin series in between those two periods, coins from the Hindu remnants and for post-Greek pre-Islamic South Asia, I'm not sure what the best book is. For these I usually use the Internet rather than books: Grifterrec is pretty good for Kushan and Sassanian, and has some helpful date and mintmark translation pages. Zeno.ru is a more expansive reference site for "Asian" coins in general, but it's easy to get lost there if you have no idea what you're actually looking for.
