Does anybody here know of a service besides NGC.......

For the kind of coin preservation service they offer? I know that PCGS doesn't have one right now.
I guess I'm talking about an individual entrepreneur who has solid experience and really understands
the various chemicals and techniques who offers that kind of service.
I have some very borderline proofs right now that could really use that kind of service and I've screwed
so many up I no longer want to try it myself.
Thanks for any comments, help....

For coins of substantial value, I would stick with NCS.
fields murky, cloudy.
I know, for example, that ICCS doesn't know a coin down for it because it's practically endemic for coins stored
that way. PCGS however, seems to.
I would think removing that would be more in the line of conservation that "doctoring".
Hopefully I'm right about that.....

I agree. I think PNG's recent definition, is that coin doctoring refers to all additions to a coin (fake Liberty heads, artificial toning, etc) and conservation refers to removals from a coin's surface (a quick dip to remove ugly toning, or a method to remove spots). But it's not as simple as it sounds: for example, removing hairlines by lazer is not conservation, but doctoring.
I think my friend John, that these spots have become an obsession and that you're having nightmares about them.
