Thumbs up to Brian Greer.

I have bought about 12 coins from him so far, everyone has met or exceeded ANA and photograde standards and been eye appealing and problem free bar none. No pictures just a short description on his web site is good enough for me. He makes collecting coins a better hobby.
not an expert,just well informed.

Great coins but don't waste your time emailing him - he doesn't answer most. You have to call.

Brian is a really great guy. I have known him for years, and recently we have worked on many deals together. He always has coins that match exactly what I am looking for! He has a very good eye for quality.

Brian is a really honest guy and a smart one too.

If he grade a coin a certain grade, it is his honest opinion. Of dozens of coin he has sold maybe 3 came back lower than graded and 25 equal or higher. The lower ones I agree still with Brian's grade.

His retail prices are many time lower than others so called wholesale prices. For circulated Seated coins he is good as any out there. I blindly recommend him to anyone.
I seldom check PM's but do check emails often jason@seated.org

I have known and bought coins from Brian Greer for many years, and have always thoroughly enjoyed each and every transaction. One of the advantages of maintaining an elaborate database with information relating to my collection is that I can go back and review things like this. It was interesting for me to go back and review the many transactions that I have had with Brian over these many years. It turns out I bought my first half dime from Brian on May 2, 1994, an 1838-O V2, along with eight other half dimes. Since that time I have purchased a total of 52 half dimes from him, with dates ranging from 1794 to 1868, and the majority of these still reside in my reference collection. There are many adjectives that could be used to describe Brian Greer, but honesty and integrity would have to top that list.

I enjoy selling to him too.

    Great guy.

He has cherry picked me several times for coins that were not core to my US collection.image

I was at the Minneapolis show yesterday, went up to a dealer from Des Moines, asked him what he had in capped bust half dollars and he said Brian Greer visits him twice a week. I knew then and there I wouldn't cherrypick anything. I also saw nice coins, though, as the dealer had been getting "tutored" by Brian with each visit as to what to look for in a CBH.

I purchased a nice 1809 O.104 from Brian a few years back. Nice coin and pleasant exchange. He gave me a good price, too.

Agreed. Coins always described and graded accurately.
  • I spend more $ with Brian than any other dealer. He's great for a person on a limited budget since he caters to us poor folks too! BTW, his wife is as nice as he is.

Brian is my favorite dealer, very knowledgeable and honest. I sold him a batch of nice barber and seated liberty coins in the mid 90's and he paid a very fair price.
About a month after the sale to him he sent a check for $250 more because he made out better than expected on my coins! How many dealers have you ever
    had do that?

  • I have not been very active in my collecting interests over the last couple years, but I have had the opportunity to buy several R6 Bust Half Dimes for my collection from Brian. I have NEVER been unhappy with the coins and have always been able to buy them at incredible prices from him. Brian is great people and I still regularly check his web site to see if there is something available for me.

Keep it up Brian! You're the man!

He's always answered my emails in a timely fashion.

Brian is one of the very few dealers who I would buy coins from sight unseen. He's got a great eye for quality. Highly recommended. image
