How's this Yaz RC?

I just purchased this card today. I measured it up with another card and it matched, so it doesn't appear to be trimmed. Is it sharp enough to be a 7? Would it come back NQ, or would I get a qualifier for the print dots?

    I think it's a 7. My 8 has the same print dots.

Along with the obvious print specks there appears to be some registration issues neat the left and right borders (pink on the right and yellow on the left), so my opinion is that it would be graded a straight 6, or a 7PD.

I agree with Nick - the yellow being off may be a bigger problem than the stray print (or the combination will force a pd or a deduction). Corners seem 6.5-ish, so could go either way there too.

    My humble estimated odds:

    PSA 7 - 15%
    PSA 7 pd - 15%
    PSA 6.5 - 10%
    PSA 6 - 45%
    PSA 6 pd - 15%

I would guess it to be about 6.5 or 7 due to the PD, yellow and the slight diamond tilt. Best of luck on the grading.

  • looks like a 7 to me...
centering is less than 60/40 so it can't 8...corners look like 7s...
the PD is the only issue which may knock it down a grade....

8 PD or 7. Good luck.

I'm thinking it had a great shot at a 7, but with the registration and the print dots, I see a 6, IMHO.

The first thing that stood out to me is the registration issues. The print dots (smudge?) is a close second. If the grader is in a good mood that day, it may pass without a qualifier - but they gotta be in a very giving mood.

for the sake of comparison, here's a front and back of a raw Yaz RC which was assigned a PSA NM 7

i'd tend to agree with those who say PSA 6 or PSA 8(PD), but i also contend that the Yaz rookie card erratically spans the whole universe of grading since they seem to be rather plentiful.

on the right day, i would not be surprised to see the OP's example receive a PSA 7.
