What am I missing about the 2010 and 2011 Shield Cent Proofs?

I see that the 2010 and 2011 Shield Cent PF70 Reds are going for around $130 while the PF70 Red 2009 Lincolns (set of four) are bringing about $60/each. Why are the Shield proof 70s bringing so much more?? Thanks for any info on this.

I think the mintage totals and of course the pop reports and the shear number of folks who got these coins slabbed due to the idea that 2009 was the end of the cent, etc. So there are a flood of them which the market has priced accordingly. JMHO.

  • R, I've seen rolls of the 2010 PR Lincolns selling for $200+ on the bay. I was wondering a few days ago why these were commanding such a premium.

I think they are so much because people need them for their registry sets. Once most people get theirs they will most likely go down some.
