A sincere thank you to everyone for their generosity. I've exceeded my fundraising goal and as the politically un/correct term goes, I want to "spread the weath". There are always great causes on these fine boards, so please take a moment and find someone else who needs to hit their goals.
Again, thank you very much!

I apologize in advance for the generic copy/paste but.. well.. you know...

Family, friends, and colleagues:
I hope all is well.
Riding 175+ miles from Houston to Austin in two days is always good times; even more so when it involves raising money and awareness to help fight Multiple Sclerosis. Like last year, I'm riding with the Saint Arnold team, a local brewery, and have a $1,000 fundraising goal. Day 1 is a 100-mile ride from Tully Stadium to La Grange; where we'll be greeted with adult beverages and food, a refreshing shower, and a desperately needed massage. Day 2 is a 77-mile ride that travels through Bastrop State Park and ends at the State Capital.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

<< <i>Have fun on your ride. I once rode 162 miles in one day and 342 miles over three days (100, 80, and 162). Getting finished at 5:45 pm, it was very tempting to put in another 38 miles after supper, but I just couldn't do it. >>
LANCE?!?!?!

No, not Lance. I did this with my Dad when I was probably 15 years old. We lived in Morton, Illinois. We took two days to ride to Turkey Run state park with gear on our bikes. We camped the night in Turkey Run, and since the wind was blowing with us, we decided to try to ride back in one day. We had both done over 100 miles numerous times, but anything above 108 or so was new territory for us. Once I got home and got showered off, I was tempted to get back on the bike and do another 38. But 38 is far enough by itself, and I wasn't about to try it alone at the age of 15 after going 162 earlier. In hindsight, I wish I would have tried it. My Dad has done 200 miles more than once since, but I have never came close to 162 again. I'm now into running long distances and hope to cover 50 miles in one day sometime. 32 is my record so far.

Holy crud! Yeah, I'll gladly try riding a double century before even thinking about running a marathon. 50 miles in a day is beyond impressive.. That's moving into Dean Karnazes territory.
For those not familiar with Dean, he's an amazing athlete that is also known as "Double Marathon Man". He's currently running across the USA, all 3k miles, and averaging about 50 per day.
Here's Dean running the Chicago Marathon.. Twice.. In the same day.

If anyone out there hasn't donated yet, I would recommend it. It's a great cause!
Having said that, since I've exceeded my fundraising goal, unless you have a personal connection to MS (be it family, friend, associate, etc), PLEASE consider donating your money to another cause. For example, EchoCanyon is looking for some generous souls -> thread linky poo
Again, thank you for your generosity and support.

Seriously though, have a great ride. Charity rides are awesome to be involved with.
