1794 One Cent Liberty Cap with lettered edge??

I'm rather new to collecting, only four years and need some help.
I have a 1794 liberty cap cent NGC graded head of 1794 variety s-43. (Sorry PCGS but I wanted at least a details grade and variety - wish you'd do it too.)
However it has a lettered edge " one hundered for a dollar".
NGC did not designate it as lettered edge but they did put in a holder that permits viewing the edge. I know that the large cent was thinned that year and the lettering was dropped.
I can't find any information about a lettered edge 1794. Are they rare? Are they common? Any information or direction to a reference book would be helpful.
Thanks,
CoinNewBee
