1956 Mantle KSA 7

I wanted to know what some of the more experienced collectors here thought of this card.

1956 Mantle KSA 7

I still don't have a trained eye, but do you see any red flags? Is KSA legitimate? Why is there no serial number? No scan of the back of the card always troubles me too.

    I can't say anything towards the card, but.... He has that sort of "legal terms" (Pretty extensive for a new user) and only 46 feedback, so obviously not new to ebay... Just raises a flag for me - hope someone can help you out!

    I don't know about the seller. The one edge on the card looks suspect to me. Maybe trimmed?

    I know enough to stay away. If you are lucky enough to get it crossed, it will be 1-2 full grades lower.

    KSA is a legit company - Canada's version of PSA.

    Card should holder by PSA/SGC, just expect it to be 1 grade lower.

    Pretty sure serial #'s on back....e-mail seller for that or a scan.

    Thanks for the info. I was definitely staying away from it, but was curious about KSA. Right after I posted, I found that they have a KSA 10 Gretzky RC listed for $10k. Again, if it crosses to a PSA 9, you're out a LOT of money.

    This "my card is a <insert third rate grading company here> 10 so it's worth the same as a PSA 10" ploy seems to be common on Ebay.

    Anybody know of any good past threads on the relative grading of the various companies?

    P.S. Have you all seen the $2 million Topps Jeter card on Ebay?!?! I guess its a joke, but I can't be sure. The questions are entertaining.

    That card will never sell.

    Right before ARod got popped for steroids someone maybe even the same person. Had a Topps 1/1 printing plate card for the same exact price. It also never sold.

    The seller is praying someone will pull the trigger. Also the seller is trying to bank on the upcoming hype with Derek closing in on 3000 hits...


    Edit add:
    Also I still stand by my guess that the Mantle card is trimmed. The one edge just doesn't look right at all compared to the other 3 edges... The 3 edges don't have that diamond cut to it. Yet on the picture the one right edge has diamond type cut which is where I think someone did some trimming. Also there is a reason this card is not in a psa holder. It probably received a N1 before it made it in the KSA holder.

    Just my 2 cents...
