OT - UPS Lost My Package

I realized I hadn't heard from someone after I sent them a small package via UPS. I call my local UPS where I sent it from, they go - oh - hold on we'll call you back. I get a call back from corporate UPS saying that they will initiate a package tracer. My tracking info shows it going from here all the way to Hogdkins, IL - (Final stop was Danville, IL) - with an arrival scan but no departure scan.
Has this happened to anyone? Did they find it?
- what a way to ruin bracket weekend!

P.S. What the hell happened today in basketball? Did they forget to show up?

Collecting:
Any unopened Baseball cello and rack packs and boxes from the 1970's and early 1980s.
I purchased an expensive card ( in my world) from BBCE. It came UPS. The delivery man simply placed the package on my front porch and left, not even ringing the bell. I was in my office and heard someone on the porch or I would not have even known it was delivered.
If it positively must be delivered safely you can't beat USPS Registered mail.

<< <i>Not a shocker at all. UPS is the worst...why anybody uses them vs USPS or FedEx (Express NOT Ground which is subcontracted) is beyond me. >>
Morning,
USPS...................12 years...Over 10,000 packages and exactly Two, That's Right Two, have ever completely come up missing. And the Postal inspector was pretty convinced that one of them Burned up in a USPS Semi Truck Fire back east. I think the other was lost going to Canada, didn't pay $30 to deliver a $10 card, so scammer probably got me on that one.
UPS......3 packages with Fragile on them in last two years...All Three destroyed!!!
FEDEX.....Too much of a hassle...you have to be home to get delivery and I live in Rural Colo. and just don't have that option. Even when you change to have it delivered to your work it still is a hassle, took me three weeks after shipping date for my last Legendary Auction item, before I had the item in my hands
You do the Math!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He cant pin point where the package is/was? He can only guess/assume...
Fedex tracking can pinpoint any package no matter when you track it.

They deliver without signature to resi stops unless signature required. If your not home you will get the doortag to sign or info to get your package at the station.
Regardless of who you ship with, packages will get damaged. Envelope/letter size packages are the safest by far because those get handled and sorted seperate from boxes.
All the freight/boxes gets put into large cans and boxes can move during shipment.
If you call Fedex and ask for a package to be delivered to another address, it can be done. They pinpoint where the package is, where its going, contact the local station where its going and
update it at that point. Only way you may get a delay is if its already on road with a driver and your updated address is out of his area. You have another option at that point, pick it up at the
station later that day or get delivery at the new address the next day. This is done every day and very easy to do.
Try calling UPS, give them your tracking number when a package is in route, they cant tell you where your package is!
<< <i>I have a signature confirmation package showing as "out for delivery" for 3 days! time for a trip to the PO >>
UPDATE: Went by the Post Office on the way home from work yesterday and they could not find the package. gave me a phone number (Carrier Supervisor) to call at 8:30 this morning. Busy signal until 9:30am. then it just rang and rang and rang. now at 10:30, its been busy again....$350 worth of cards (signature conformation, but not insured, rackett anyways) and just started buying and the seller is great and has great cards, so really don't want to file a paypal claim and have him block me, but.....

Lucky for me the buyer was honest , he emailed me saying item arrived and 3 days later he received my return receipt delivered to him. LOL. I had only insured the item for 100.00 , so I would have been screwed, if not for a honest buyer.
I think all 3 mailing services have problems, but I prefer using USPS and then UPS and only if I am desperate Fed Ex.
UPS- once took 6 months to deliver a 2nd day air package for me.
UPS - over 25 years have lost 2 items that I shipped. damaged 5 to 10 items.
USPS- once took 46 days to deliver a package to me from 30 miles away, I could have walked there and back a few times.
usps- over 25 years have lost 3 items that I shipped. damaged 3 to 5 items.
good luck with UPS at least they give 100.00 insurance coverage for each package

Showed up today. Postman brought it up to the pad for signature like nothing happened or that it had been missing for 4 days
