The Official "MESSIN' WITH STUPID EBAY SELLERS" Thread
I thought I would start an official thread where we could tell our stories about how we can "mess with" stupid Ebay sellers. You know, kind of like the Jack Link's Beef Jerky commercial's "Messin' With Saskwatch".
Here is what I just did. I have a saved search for "Topps Signed Cardinals" and I ran across this OBVIOUS FAKE signed Pujols card. So, here is the message I send him -

Dear sportsfreakjp,
Hi,
Just wondering what you used to sign this card? Did you use a sharpie or a plain black marker. I have some Pujols cards. Would you mind signing them for me? Thanks.

After that, I promptly blocked him from bidding on any of my auctions to keep him from retaliating.
What are some of your "messin' with stupid Ebay sellers" stories?

Shane ... the problem with that is he can open another eBay account quite easily and retaliate all he wants. I, like you, HATE when I see obvious forgeries ... it really sucks that so many people get ripped off!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

<< <i>I've got another story. It involves an Ebay seller named "itzagoner"....

Bid
1.- 99 cents
2.- 1.11
3.- 1.21
4.- 1.50
5.- 1.60
6.- 1.70
7.- 1.80
8.- 1.90
9.- 2.00
10.- 2.31
this always ticks me off when a newbie or even an oldie does it to one of my auctions. like wow the auction has 10 bids and still at 99 cents LOL.
<< <i>one way to mess with someone just pick one of their auctions that will end above 15 to 20 dollars starting at 99 cents at bid like 10 times on the same item from the get go.

Pick an auction you didn't win and email the guy like 4 or 5 times with in a 10 minute period, saying: "Hello, STILL Haven't Received my ITEM that I paid for were is it and what is the tracking # tired of waiting you have had plenty of time to send it, I am going to NEG you and file a claim, I want an answer within the next 2 hours or you will force me to do something you won't like! tired of your crap.
The KEY here is the auction has ended and you are not the winner so when the seller receives your email it Will Not show the item or the item number you are referring to, this will drive him nuts as he looks back over the last 1 to 6 weeks of auctions trying to figure out what item it is that you won? figuring he is going to get a negative in the next 2 hours.
Then after he emails you back about 3 to 5 times asking for the item or item number begging for forgiveness.
email him back with a "Emily Litella (Gilda Radner SNL)" response "oh that's different Nevermind" Nevermind
<< <i>another thought is if the guy has a lot of auctions say 50 to 200 all starting at 99 cents with no bids pick about 40 to 100 or all of them and bid the minimum 99 cents, definitely looks like he has a shill bidder and you might actually win 1 or 2 items unless they are all raw 1988 topps then you might win all of them (ouch backfire shot myself in the foot).

Messin' with Sasquatch. Mesin with ebay sellers. Pure.. Genious. This thread should live forever.
You piss off the wrong stupid person you can kiss your seller's account goodbye.
If they are really stupid you can hide behind a proxy server creating dummy eBay accounts and bid like a million $$$$ on every auction they have. A lot of stupid sellers are not smart enough to setup the settings to block certain bidders or new bidders from doing this.
<< <i>First rule of messing with stupid eBay sellers club is create an account that is different than your sellers account to mess with said stupid people.

As soon as I sent him the message, I immediately proceeded to block him as a bidder.

That's what always makes me think twice about messing with people from my own account
