I cracked out a bunch of BGS cards tonight. I used wire cutters and cracked from the top. Then I used a long flat head screw driver to pry open and they were out safe. I have cracked 10 cards in the past few days and actually found BGS to be easier then PSA.
I found myself forced to crack one of my favorite cards as it was warping inside the holder and practiced on a few low end cards and then busted the card I had to. I popped out 7 relatively expensive cards tonight.
It is very easy if you start at the top. You have to be strong to cut through the holder so that must be where you have a hard time.
1) BGS cases are easy to crack 2) No way in hell are they easier than a PSA slab. 3) Only someone that doesn't bother thinking about the engineering of the slab would use wire cutters or any other kind of cutting tool on it
I used wire cutters that look like the third one on this image search.
If you cut the slab right in the dead center it will crack hard down the middle of the surface. Then crack to the right and the left and now you have a completely loose slab and a full opening. Simply lift up with the flat head screw driver. Gently remove the card in the bag and get some sharp scissors. Cut along the top of the bag, remove your card and insert into a card saver.
I have only tried cracking out a few PSA cards and found it more tough. Becuase the card in BGS holder is in a sealed sleave I found it easier to work with.
I was very surprised how easy it was and cracked out the only 10 cards I tried with no damage to the cards. With a PSA slab I could never get a good clean crack down the middle of the slab and had to make quite a few more atempts to crack it and found it to be much tougher. Perhaps the tools I was using were the problem. Either way a BGS holder with this method is surprisingly very easy to bust open.
Forget the wc. Best results and simplest for me has been using a pocket knife w/ a sharp and pointed tip on a 4" blade. Work the tip at the top corners. Don't try it at the bottom or you may FU the card. After you've popped the seam between the two pieces, if needed, gently wedge / hold one corner open about 1/8" using a small flat-head sd while you work the other corner. I've successfully used this procedure on GAI, SGC, BVG, PSA, and SCD holders. Never did a BCCG but can't be any diff. Be sure to wear gloves on both hands in case the knife slips. Be patient. Take your time. Once you get the knack, should pop any slab in less than a minute.

Pretty much how I do it, except I start with a set of pliers and break off the top right corner (or left, however you roll) - much easier to get that screwdriver into the corner that way, and much safer than trying to force a knife blade in there.

Well, I just freed about 50 cards and didn't have to visit emergency! LOL!!

I'm probably your karmic opposite then. Forcing a knife into anything like a slab gives me the willies bigtime.

Why the corners? I've always placed the flathead right in the middle of the slab as it stands upright, and use some finesse to get it inside the slab, then muscle it side to side. I'm not sure how you guys who are worried about injuring yourself this way would actually do it. Are you putting the slab on your leg or something?
<< <i>flathead screwdriver and a hammer... pound away at one of the upper corners - once the case is split just pry it open with the screw driver. >>
I second this. Hammering the corners to open it up won't damage the card. This works every time. Just cover the area you're hammering so shards don't fly everywhere.

ludicrous
<< <i>What a shock, every word out of my mouth VladG has something negative to say. >>
What a shock, someone still responds to your malarkey while most people remain silent.
