Good way to make a few bucks every time you go to walmart/target etc

Any time you see this retail box.... Pick up everyone they have, I've only seen 3 in the past year, but they have them every now and then, I know some
smaller cities have more and it's really random since it's a second stock item, but they consistently sell for quite a bit more than you buy them
retail ($21.50 after tax), and I just listed it on ebay and it's about to end over $50!

Thanks for the heads up, but the picture is so small that I can't see the box.
Yeah, I uploaded that KC icon in 2001
  • Thanks for the info. I may have seen one recently, thought it was junk.
  • I bought one of those once, for about $35.

If I had an opportunity to buy another one for $5, I would turn it down.

Good thing you didn't bid on my auction.

I believe 1 box in every case has a pack between 60-69, I don't know the odds though, nor do I care. They consistently sell on ebay I've never had an issue getting under $35 for them

i've bought one of these in the past from walmart.. they are complete junk.. i'm shocked someone would pay 50 for it on ebay. has anyone ever gotten a vintage pack from one of these boxes? i got some random 1990s soccer packs and 1990 proset.. it was a wast of 20 bucks

I've seen way too many negatives and returns on these because people don't know what they are buying

I found one at our local Walmart that was 50% off. Paid $10.00 for it. I have not opened it yet but I am sure not expecting much.

I pick them up to sell them, never ceases to amaze me what people pay.

I bought 4 boxes when they first hit the shelves at walmart. I figured I would get at least one card from 69 or earlier. After opening all 4 boxes I didn't get one vintage card. All the packs were 80s and 90s. They even threw in a pack of some crappy umpire cards that I never even seen b4. Also all packs had been resealed and the stars taken out. Those boxes are complete garbage and a waste of money. I will never buy them again ever.

In the box I bought, BY FAR the best pack was an '86 Topps baseball pack that appeared to have been previously opened. I also got plenty of the "1990s soccer packs and 1990 proset"- type stuff. One of my 'packs' were miniature '88 Topps baseball stickers. Another one was something like "Sports Heroes from Michigan State University". I had never heard of the manufacturer.
If my experience is typical of what you get- and I strongly suspect that it is- it seems like borderline fraud on the part of the company that is packaging these boxes. If someone can post an experience where they bought a box and got ANYTHING worthwhile, maybe my opinion will change.

(Just to be clear, I have no problem whatsoever with the fact that the OP is buying these and flipping them. I am merely commenting on the quality of the product.)

I don't think it was this brand, but I bought one similar to it one time and it was pure garbage. A number of the cards in some packs even had bad dings on one or two corners. Already worthless junk in mint condition, and then to top it off with dings. LOL

Yes, I wasn't LOL at the time.

Sean be careful, selling those boxes is a good way to get a buyer mad at you and a negative for your troubles.

It simply is not worth the 20.00 that you can make.

    Good for you.
  • I just wish I'd stop picking up a 2010 Bowman Chrome 19.99 blaster box when all I went to the local Walmart for was milk, a twelve pack of diet rite soda, and a 6 (12) pack of Mich Ultra.

Milk, diet rite soda, and a six pack should not cost 34 dollars. But I continue to do it. Why. (the packs have Strasburg auto claim on the front, for some reason, I can't let it go from last year) Why Why Why

Complete junk - I think Tristar Productions used to put those out these retail boxes three or four years ago, but now it is only the company who is probably buying up all the junk cards / wax.
  • I have boughten a few of these before. I did get a redemption for a 74 pack once, and it did get sent about 3 weeks after I sent it in. I probably have boughten 6 or 8 of these over the past few years, and that was the only good pull. The rest are all junk wax for the most part.

    Again, another lottery position.

not sure why people think this "hobby" is about making money. But I fell its driving the prices down over all. So bring it on.
  • Thanks Steve it means a lot. I don't bring it up much to people I don't know too often, as it is sometimes hard to get into. It's really a nightmare that continues.

    One day at a time.

    Thanks again for remembering...
